NELA is transitioning our 2020 Annual Conference to a fully virtual format. This was an incredibly difficult decision for us to make, but making this decision now has allowed us to throw our energies behind planning the best virtual alternative!
We are planning on holding a series of half-day conferences, spread out across August, September, October, and November, using the Tame virtual event platform. We believe that when libraries do reopen in the coming months it will be with reduced staff at a time of significantly increased patron needs. That being said, we believe running a virtual conference for three consecutive days does not make sense for our attendees. These half-day events will function very similarly to our regular conferences, featuring multiple speakers, tracks of programs organized by topic, keynotes, designated vendor time, and other fun events.
We’re interested in ALL program ideas, but specifically on the following topics:
Diversity and Inclusiveness topics
3D printing ventilators and other library services during pandemic
